April marks Workplace Violence Awareness Month, a time dedicated to recognizing, preventing, and responding to workplace violence to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all employees. At UC Davis, we are committed to fostering a culture of safety and resilience. Throughout the month, we will be offering several opportunities for staff to engage in training, education, and discussions on workplace violence prevention.

Wellness is not a destination, it's a faithfulness to small daily habits that allow one to thrive in each of the eight wellness dimensions.

National Women's History Month highlights the achievements and contributions of women throughout history, emphasizing the importance of recognizing their impact on society. As we celebrate this month, it’s equally important for campus and health employees to prioritize safety by staying aware of their surroundings, using available safety resources, and following proper protocols. By fostering a culture of support and vigilance, we can ensure a safer and more inclusive environment for everyone.

This month, UC Systemwide Human Resources will collaborate with Deloitte Consulting LLP to conduct a comprehensive employee benefits survey for faculty and staff. Emails to participate will launch the week of March 17, 2025.

Wellness to me is looking at what our goals are in life and tinkering along the path so that we may achieve these goals in good comprehensive health: body and mind and community. Wellness is personal, but social, and can be utilized or affected at home or work or events.

Under new guidelines, retirees who return to UC employment within 26 weeks (6 months) of retirement and meet specific eligibility criteria will be offered the "Mid-level" faculty/staff benefits package instead of retiree medical benefits. UC retiree medical benefits will be suspended for any rehired retiree who is offered faculty/staff benefits, regardless of whether they enroll.

UC has established a new, temporary Systemwide Wildfire Catastrophic Leave Bank to support UC employees affected by the wildfires in the greater Los Angeles region. Donate vacation or PTO by March 31.
