New Benefits Eligibility Rules for Rehired Retirees

Under new guidelines, retirees who return to UC employment within 26 weeks (6 months) of retirement and meet specific eligibility criteria will be offered the "Mid-level" faculty/staff benefits package instead of retiree medical benefits. UC retiree medical benefits will be suspended for any rehired retiree who is offered faculty/staff benefits, regardless of whether they enroll.

The Onboarding Toolkit for supervisors and managers was recently updated to provide best practices and templates for creating a supportive, engaging start for new hires. 

This aligns with key goals identified in our Campus Staff Experience Survey, UC Davis Health's CommUNITY Feedback Survey and The Hiring Experience initiative. The Onboarding Toolkit redefines onboarding with a focus on belonging, integration and growth—key areas identified to improve staff engagement.
