Grief Support Group

For UC Davis and UC Davis Health employees who have lost someone. 

While grief impacts everyone differently, connecting with others to share stories, tips and sometimes tears can help with the grieving process. 

Join us for a 4-week grief support group. Please be willing to attend all 4 groups on Tuesdays 4 - 5 p.m. Sharing during the group is not mandatory. 

We will not be adding new participants after the first session.

Topics include:

  • Grief education
  • Processing feelings
  • Exploring coping strategies
  • Identifying a support network
  • And more

Coping with Uncertain Times

This discussion/support group explores ways to feel okay when things are not. We’ll focus on simple activities and practical techniques you can use right away to ease tension, quiet "what-ifs?", and feel more grounded. You’ll leave with tools to help you manage stress and navigate challenging transitions with greater ease.

Eldercare Support Group

Are you a caregiver for an elder in your life?

Please join Alison Ward, PsyD., Psychologist at ASAP who will facilitate a drop-in support group which meets bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. via Zoom.

Participants will have the opportunity to share personal experiences with eldercare, learn about resources in the community and obtain guidance on relevant topics.

Topics will include:

  • Coping with caregiver stress
  • Identifying compassion fatigue
  • Finding balance between caring for self and others
  • Connecting to community resources
  • Learning about ASAP services

Support Group for Neurodivergent Staff

This support group is for UC Davis Campus/Health Staff Employees* with challenges, tendencies, traits and/or diagnoses associated with, though not limited to: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Social (Pragmatic) Communication, Specific Learning Disorders (e.g. Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia). 

This is a caring space for Neurodivergent Staff at UC Davis to share ideas and support each other in utilizing strengths to cultivate: professional effectiveness; emotional well-being; mindful living; and interpersonal understanding. 

Participants are welcome to attend whichever sessions work with their schedules. While participants are encouraged to arrive on time, we also support participants in attending as time permits, whether they will arrive late or need to leave early.

Pet Loss Support Group

In collaboration with the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH), ASAP hosts a once-monthly discussion/support group that invites space for participants to meet and share experiences of grief after losing a beloved pet, find community and discuss strategies for coping and self-care. The group is open for attendance from hospital clients as well as UC Davis faculty/staff.
